Flying!
Today I've been flying from Biggin Hill, in a light aircraft, flown by Tom, my eldest son. He's training for a private pilot's licence.
In the back seat I was two things - silent while he did his thing - and terribly proud. Boy to man. His own man.
(And a darn sight more focussed and competent than his mother has ever been!)
Go Tom. Keep being yourself.
And thanks for showing me the world from above and the sun shining above the clouds. It was magic...
Hooray for You!!!

I am pleased to see photos - but only on iPhone. I Will look properly on PC tomorrow. Can feel motherly pride oozing from every word. How lovely.
wowzer. i have a friend who's a pilot. i love following his updates on facebook--incredible photos. but i always have my heart in my throat.
Brilliant !
I was talking to an airline pilot on the train the other day. He left the fire brigade owing to injury but managed to qualify as a commercial pilot aged 40.
Too late. He's now fifty and is just about breaking even on the training debts, can't get any steady work owing to his age.
If your boy wants to do it now's the time.
Thank you dear Lady T.
:-)
Laurie - I feared my stomach might be in my throat as it were - but happily not - no airsickness. Just wonder!
Thanks Kev. You're dead right.
And in pursuit of a career our children's generation carry a far heavier financial burden than previous ones.
Maybe that's just as well? - I dunno.
Wow! That must have been fantastic. You must be so proud.

Real life is cramping my blogging style,Katie.

Real-life, gets in the way all the time doesn't it...

Oh lucky girl to have your own private pilot in the family...I've often thought everyone needs their own personal professionals at their beck and call! Don't wear poor Tom out, but if I were you I'd go flying at every opportunity!
Good on you Tom!~
Just wanted to say I love the Lioness and Baby and these wasn't a comment spot!!! Thanks for sharing it with us
